This is my mom - Bertie Reynolds - I am dedicating my first blog to her. She died 25 years ago, when I was 30 years old. She was a beautiful person. Mom's first baby was a boy who died shortly after birth. Over the years, I never heard her speak of this baby. Her precious little one died and she was critically ill because of complications of the birth. My dad was in the service and was contacted by the Red Cross. He traveled home to bury his firstborn. My mom was too sick to even attend the services. I have a few pictures of my little brother lying in his tiny casket.
Years after my mom died, going through her papers, I found a baby book that she had started for her boy. It had shower gifts listed and names of friends and family that attended the baby's showers. And then the little baby book ended abruptly.
The day I found this baby book, I was sitting on the floor of my upstairs bedroom and was overwhelmed with sadness for what she must have felt at this time in her life. She never shared these feelings with me.
Two years later, she had a baby girl - me - Debra Lee Reynolds - Debbie. Two years later she had another baby girl - my precious sister - Barbara Kelly Reynolds - Bobbi, and just three short years later she had my cute, adorable baby brother - William Kelly Reynolds - Billy.
